Spirit of the Month: Woodford Reserve Double Oaked

Savor the Woodford Reserve Double Oaked Kentucky straight bourbon, starting Jan. 22. There will be a very limited quantity available, so come on down to the National Press Club and try it out while it lasts, at the Reliable Source Bar.

As we continue to bring our members and their guests new and interesting offerings at the bar, we are excited to announce our latest initiative that we’re calling "Spirit of the Month." Each month we will offer a limited spirit at the Reliable Source Bar to give our reliable offerings an added something that, we hope, will be enjoyable for members and their friends.

This month we bring you the award-winning Woodford Reserve Double Oaked. It’s the same bourbon that many of you will recognize as the Woodford Reserve. But unlike the original it has been untapped and re-barreled in a deeply toasted and lightly charred oak barrel that brings out a softer and sweeter oak flavor.

Remember: There are limited bottles, so come on over and try it before we run out!

According to Woodford Reserve, this is the Woodford Reserve Double Oaked taste profile:

• Proof: 90.4°
• Color: Deep Amber
• Aroma: Rich notes of dark fruit, caramel, sharp honey, chocolate, marzipan and toasted oak
• Taste: A full-bodied mix of vanilla, dark caramel, hazelnut, apple, fruit and spices
• Finish: Long and creamy with lingering hints of honeyed apple
