Start New Year's Eve with dinner at the Fourth Estate

The Fourth Estate Restaurant of the National Press Club will offer an a la carte menu on Tuesday, Dec. 31, at a 6 p.m. and an 8 p.m. sitting.

Starters:  $10, your choice of

  • Savory winter green salad, pear, pomegranate seeds, Feta cheese, spiced pecans and pomegranate vinaigrette,
  • Appetizer plate:  Two jumbo shrimp, Smoked salmon avocado toast and Swiss chard fritter; cocktail sauce and dill crème fraiche
  • Warm Lobster bisque, truffle Parmesan croutons and fresh herbs.

Entrées:  $35, your choice of

  • Steamed cracked king crab leg, drawn butter, almond couscous (or Old Bay fries) and tropical papaya-mango red pepper slaw,
  • Prosciutto wrapped Certified Angus Beef filet mignon, red wine sauce, sautéed mushrooms, chive mashed potatoes, spinach soufflé,
  • Rack of lamb chops, rosemary jus, pistachio rice pilaf, roasted grapes and charred asparagus

Vegetarian Entree, $25: Napoleon, orzo, fennel, squash, peppers and ricotta, roasted red pepper sauce and sautéed winter greens.

Dessert:  $8, your choice of

  • Chocolate Éclair, custard filling,
  • Coconut Snowballs, vanilla ice-cream, butterscotch or peppermint fudge sauce, showered almonds,
  • Three cheese plate, spiced crackers, mandarin orange and shard of chocolate pecan toffee.
