Three reporter-source happy hours planned for 2020; first one, Feb. 12

The National Press Club Communicators Team is planning at least three reporter-source happy hours in the Reliable Source during 2020.

The first, to focus on campaigns, elections and politics, is set for Wednesday, Feb. 12. To RSVP, please register here. 

The casual gatherings are designed to encourage personal and professional exchanges among Club members. The cost is $5 per person, and Club members may invite guests. The fee includes the first drink.

A second happy hour, focusing on education, labor and workforce issues, is scheduled for Wednesday, May 13. There's also an event planned for Wednesday, Sept. 16, on a topic to be determined.

In 2019, three successful reporter-source mixers were held, one on general topics; one on health, medicine and science; and one on energy, transportation and infrastructure. Each event drew around 40 people, almost equally split between journalists and sources.
