Toast the season with drink specials created for the National Press Club’s annual Holiday Buffet dinner at the Reliable Source on Thursday, Dec. 12.

Club members and their guests are invited to sumptuous feast, which will be accompanied by cool jazz. The Renée Tannenbaum Trio, featuring vocalist Tannenbaum, a frequent performer at the Club, will entertain.

The buffet service will begin at 5:30 p.m., with the jazz following at 6 p.m. in the Truman Lounge. The price is $30 for Club members, $35 for nonmember guests.

Tannenbaum regularly performs around Washington at venues including Blues Alley, Mr. Henry’s, Bistrot Lepic and the Smithsonian. She just recently completed a tour in Europe where she performed in Prague and Rome.

Soup: Oyster stew with spinach and artichokes

Salads:

Spinach salad, dried apricots, cranberries and almonds

Blue cheese pear salad, pomegranate seeds and toasted hazelnuts

Winter apple salad, romaine, sugared cranberries and cashews; poppyseed vinaigrette

Cranberries, oranges and walnut relish

Hot Buffet:

Roast goose (carved to order).

Christmas Eve seven fish stew with fennel and tomatoes

Apricot and ginger glazed bone-in ham

Cornbread surprise holiday stuffing

Mashed potatoes, pan gravy

Cheesy cauliflower au gratin

Dessert:

Red velvet cake with green holiday icing

Croquembouche (glazed profiteroles) with Grand Marnier pastry cream
