Today: Panel analyzes state voting laws, 2 p.m.

Leaders from the several good-government and advocacy groups will review state-by-state election law changes set to take effect in 2022 at a National Press Club Headliners panel at 2 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 13.

The panel had been scheduled previously for 10 a.m., but will now be held virtually at 2 p.m. due to the current pandemic situation.

Diana Philip, chief of staff of the Democracy Initiative, has been added to the panel, replacing Charly Carter, executive director of the organization, a coalition of 75 civil rights and social justice groups. The other panelists are Taifa Smith Butler, president of Demos, a New York-based think tank that conducts research on voting rights and money in politics, and Karen Hobert Flynn, president of the advocacy group Common Cause.
