Top advertising photographer to speak at Photo Committee meeting, April 29

Renee Comet, a noted Washington advertising photographer who specializes in food, will speak to a luncheon meeting of the Photo Committee in the Games Room at noon on Tuesday, April 29.

The title of her talk will be "Thinking, Looking, Shooting and Eating." This event is free and open to all National Press Club members.

"Photographing food is like a visual feast with endless possibilities. Food is a lifestyle and all about connecting with people," Comet says. "For me each plate of food has a story to tell."

Comet's work has appeared in many places, including cookbooks, advertising, and packaging. Her clients have included Marriott International, Ritz-Carlton, the U.S. Postal Service, the Smithsonian, and the Food Network. Her photographs illustrate many cookbooks, including, recently, "The New Jewish Table," by Equinox Chef Todd Gray and Ellen Kassoff Gray. Comet is a graduate of Rochester Institute of Technology.
