The fierce cavalry fighting in the fields and hills around Brandy Station, near Culpeper, occurred on June 9, 1863. It involved 20,000 troops, 17,000 of them cavalry. The fighting pitted a Union cavalry corps under Maj. Gen. Alfred Pleasonton against the forces of famed Confederate cavalry leader Maj. Gen. J.E.B. Stuart.

Bud Hall, president of the Brandy Station Foundation and leading authority on the battle, will guide the tour.

The trip is hosted by the Civil War Preservation Trust via a payment-in-kind agreement with the Club.
