Veteran broadcast journalist and National Press Club member Irv Chapman discusses his former reporting of the Vietnam War and how it might apply to current conflicts in Afghanistan, Iraq and Syria in the current edition of Update-1, the Club’s podcast.

In a career that has spanned more than 50 years, Chapman has reported for Radio Press International, ABC News and now with Bloomberg News. In Update-1, he talks with Club Broadcast/Podcast Team member Lincoln Smith not only about how what he reported on in Vietnam applies today, but also the differences between the media coverage of Vietnam and that of current wars, and whether the United States learned anything from the Vietnam War.

Chapman was with ABC during his time in Vietnam. Club Broadcast/Podcast Team co-vice chair Mike Hempen produces Update-1. The podcast can be heard on the Club website or on iTunes, Stitcher and TuneIn.
