VA Secretary Wilkie to speak at Club Headliners event Nov. 10

 

Veterans Affairs Secretary Robert Wilkie will address the National Press Club at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 10, from the Club's ballroom as the country prepares to commemorate its veterans.

The event comes as VA hospitals across the nation deal with a surge in Covid-19 cases. Doctors at VA  hospitals are caring for nearly 5,700 patients with active cases of the virus. 

Wilkie, the son of an Army artillery commander wounded in combat during the Vietnam War, is an officer the the U.S. Air Force Reserve. He has held the top VA post since July 30, 2018. As the VA secretary, Wilkie oversees the care of the nation's 18 million veterans and their families.
