Vietnam today: Photos illustrate the years since the U.S. withdrawal

How Vietnam has changed since the U.S. withdrawal in 1973 will be the subject of a presentation at noon on Thursday, Jan. 16, in the McClendon Room at a meeting of the NPC's American Legion Post 20.

Post Commander Ken Dalecki will use photos from his three-week tour of the country to illustrate Vietnam today and the lingering legacy of the conflict.

Dalecki was a Navy photojournalist in 1967-'68 stationed at Subic Bay, the Philippines, the primary support base for the U.S. 7th Fleet during the war.

Speaker portions of Post 20 meetings are open to all NPC members. Post 20 is an official partner of the U.S. Vietnam War 50th Anniversary Commemoration.
