Viewing of Winter Olympics opens a busy month at the Reliable Source Feb. 6

The weather may be cold, dreary and snowy outside, but in the National Press Club's cozy, comfortable Reliable Source restaurant, there’ll be hot times during the month of February.

The slate of special February activities will get underway this week – on Thursday, Feb. 6 -- when Club members and their guests can gather in the Truman Lounge to watch a telecast of the 22nd Winter Olympic Games, which get underway that day in Sochi, Russia. Viewing will start at 6 p.m.

There’s more to come. On Thursday, Feb. 13, the Truman Lounge will host another Pub Quiz Night, one of the Club’s most popular attractions. And on Thursday, Feb. 20, another Dinner and a Movie Night is scheduled. The movie will be "Blackfish," the acclaimed documentary examining the life of the performing killer whale Tilikum, will be shown in the Games Room at 7 p.m.

The Feb. 6 Olympics viewing from Sochi will feature opening competition in figure skating, snowboarding and freestyle skiing. The colorful opening ceremonies of the Olympics will follow the next evening, Friday, Feb. 7, and can also be viewed in the Reliable Source. Air time is 7:30 p.m. -- a perfect time to combine with the restaurant's weekly Friday Taco Night.
