Volunteer for the Book Fair Nov. 19; it'll be fun, and help the Club

Volunteers are needed for the 36th annual National Press Club Book Fair and Authors Night, one of the Club's signature events, scheduled for Tuesday, Nov. 19, from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. in the Club Ballroom.

Volunteers will work in shifts -- the first shift from 5:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. and the second from 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. You may request a specific shift, but depending on the number of requests, there is no guarantee of you'll be assigned the shift you request.

Volunteers help make the Book Fair a success by working with specific authors to ensure they have their needs met. A few volunteers will be asked to work the entry doors, to welcome and direct people from the elevators and to help with other specific areas. Volunteers will have time to also shop and enjoy the Book Fair.

Proceeds from the Book Fair benefit the National Press Club Journalism Institute, which provides college scholarships, training for journalists and awards for excellence in journalism.

Volunteering for the Book Fair will provide you with an enjoyable evening and also benefit the Club. If you would like to volunteer, please contact Joseph Luchok, volunteer coordinator, at [email protected].
