Washington Life honors young member Steven Olikara

National Press Club member Steven Olikara has been named by Washington Life magazine to its 10th annual list of under-40 power players in the capital.

The magazine cited Olikara, 24, as “the founder and president of the Millennial Action Project and the driving force behind establishing the bipartisan Congressional Future Caucus, the nation’s first Millennial-led caucus in the U.S. Congress. He also has found a niche in the music industry, as he has advised pop icons Akron and Usher on their personal foundations."

Olikara joined the Club last April and quickly became involved in helping to organize events. One involved Akon speaking at the Club during the U.S.-Africa Leaders Summit in August. Another event featured Aneesh Chopra, former first chief technology officer for the U.S. government, discussing his new book, “Innovative State: How New Technologies Can Transform Government.”

Olikara received a Vivian Award last month for his outstanding volunteer work in 2014 for the Club.
