Washington Post's Laura Meckler to discuss myths, realities of Shaker Heights at 'Dream Town' Book Rap, Sept. 13

Award-winning Washington Post reporter Laura Meckler plans to discuss her new book, Dream Town: Shaker Heights and the Quest for Racial Equity, at a National Press Club Headliners Book Rap on Wednesday, Sept. 13, at 6:30 p.m.

Meckler, a national education writer for the Post who grew up in Shaker Heights, Ohio, examines the Cleveland suburb’s decades long quest to create a racially integrated community. In Dream Town, she confronts both the ideals and realities of her hometown.

Tickets are $5 for members of the National Press Club and $10 for the general public. Pre-ordered books will be available for pickup and signing at the event. Attendees will also be able to purchase books at the door.
