April 7, 1997: Actress Whoopi Goldberg criticizes the press for failing to lead young people with positive reporting.

April 8, 1926: The cornerstone of the Club’s new building is dedicated by formally dressed President Calvin Coolidge, after a frenzied campaign to raise the money.

April 9, 1997: Canadian Prime Minister Jean Chretien says the US-Canada relationship is a model for the world.
