June 1, 1992: Former President Gerald R. Ford, in his fifth appearance at the National Press Club, finds “tremendous disillusionment across the country with politics generally” and says “the House has lost its capability to effectively handle the problems that are on its doorstep.”

June 5, 1982: The “Wrecker’s Ball” celebrates the start of renovations of the National PressBuilding.

June 5, 1974: Watergate legends Bob Woodward and Carl Bernstein appear at a National Press Club luncheon.
