This Week in National Press Club History

June 6, 1913: President Woodrow Wilson attends a National Press Club event at the Willard Hotel ballroom, as the Club runs out of room in its quarters for everyone who wants to attend a spelling bee featuring National Press Club journalists facing 14 members of Congress.

June 11, 1981: Civil rights leader Coretta Scott King addresses a National Press Club luncheon.

June 11, 1927: The National Press Club gives a reception in the Chamber of Commerce auditorium for Charles A. Lindbergh after his transatlantic solo flight.
