July 14, 2006: XM Satellite Radio begins broadcasting National Press Club luncheons.

July 17, 2003: Former President Gerald R. Ford makes his 15th and last appearance at the Club, a record number of appearances.

July 17, 2009: Walter Cronkite, winner of the Club’s first Fourth Estate Award, dies at the age of 92.
