Welcome BBC Russia Service Reporter to the NPC

The National Press Club welcomes nedw member Ilona Vinogradova of the BBC's Russia Service.

Ilona grew up in Tallin, Estonia, where she published her first story at age 15. She graduated from Moscow State University's faculty of journalism in 2003 and has since worked for various radio and TV stations and Izvestia, the national newspaper of Russia.

Since joining the BBC five years ago, she has made two radio documentaries, one of which was a trip to Tuva with the daughter of Nobel Prize-winning physicist, Richard Feynmann.

She is based in Washington DC, where she presents radio programs, makes original reports and writes for the website www.bbcrussian.com.

"Why did I join NPC? I think it's a good opportunity to meet people, to exchange ideas, to inspire each other and to have fun together," she said.
