West Virginia Attorney General Patrick Morrisey will explain the arguments behind his state's legal challenge to the Clean Air Act at a Headliners Newsmaker event today, Thursday, Feb. 17, at 2 p.m. Joining Morrisey is Indiana Attorney General Todd Rokita.

The U.S. Supreme Court is scheduled to hear oral arguments in the case, West Virginia, et al., v. Environmental Protection Agency, on Feb. 28.

Several Republican-led states and coal companies have joined West Virginia to question how much authority the EPA has to regulate greenhouse gas emissions. A federal appeals court on Jan. 19, 2021 struck down the Trump administration's plan to relax restrictions on carbon emissions by power plants.

This one-hour program will feature in-person media attendance and will also stream live. The livestream is accessible to both the media and members of the general public free-of-charge. The in-person event is open only to Club members and credentialed media. You must register here to attend.
