Whistle while you celebrate the Owls' Holiday Hoot on Nov. 30

The Silver Owls Holiday Hoot, scheduled for Thursday, Nov. 30, will feature world champion whistler Chris Ullman, who will display the artistry that has won him four first place grand championships in the International Whistling Contest.

Ullman, director of global communications at the Washington investment firm Carlyle Group, also has performed with 10 symphony orchestras and has whistled the national anthem at major league and college sporting events. His repertoire includes classical, blues, jazz, Broadway, and rock.

In the spirit of the season, this year’s Hoot will feature a “give a gift, get a gift’’ exchange. Men should bring gifts for men and women for women. Either buy something for $10 or less, or if you have a “white elephant’’ that someone would enjoy, use it.

When you arrive, drop your wrapped gift at the gift table. You will receive a ticket to use later to exchange for your gift. There is no requirement to participate, but only those who bring a gift will receive one.

The Hoot starts at 6 p.m.

The tab continues to be $35 a person, which includes dinner. There will be a cash bar. Make sure you get a stamp from the front desk for free parking at the G Street garage.

Tickets can be reserved online or by calling the Club’s reservations department at 202-662-7500.
